I will be performing some of my favorite jazz standards on guitar with Miles Damaso on drums and Jack Aylor on bass in the Hinton Music Hall in the Wright Music Building on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University on Saturday, September 28, 6:00-7:00 pm.  This concert is free and open to all ages.  Selections will include music by John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Wes Montgomery, and Miles Davis.

I am pleased to report that there will be a new Axe Of God album coming out next month.  It is called "As The Day Comes" and includes eleven new original songs with full studio recording.  Some of these songs have been in the works for more than a decade!  I will also be performing the album on electric guitar with backing tracks at Middle Tennessee State University on Friday, October 30 at 8:00 pm.  Because of the pandemic no live audience will be allowed but you can live stream the concert here…

The most important thing about playing electric guitar is: knowing how to get a good tone in any musical situation.  By dialing in your amp settings in a certain way, you can then use your guitar’s different pickups to sound appropriate in many styles.

"Matt Lund: Works 2" is a solo album of original folk, jazz, pop, classical, and worship songs and compositions. It includes 6-string acoustic guitar in standard and alternate tunings, classical guitar, 12-string guitar, electric jazz guitar, ukulele, mandolin, vocals, and pedal steel guitar. The music is meant to be uplifting and deals with spiritual and secular issues while focusing on an overall theme of faith, hope, and love.
